WLA launch West London Guide to Supported Internships 2017
The West London Alliance has launched the West London Guide to Supported Internships 2017. This guide contains details of twelve Supported Internships which are currently established. The guide can be used by parents & carers, schools, Further Education colleges and West London businesses, as well as any other parties interested in the direct pathway to employment for young people with learning difficulties and disabilities which Supported Internships can provide. Young people in West London with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) can apply for any of the Supported Internships in the guide.
Plans are currently being developed for more Supported Internships as part of the WLA’s Supported Internship Programme. Supported Internships have been extremely successful in London in enabling young people with learning disabilities to gain sustained employment, with an employment achievement rate averaging 65% of all supported internships undertaken.
Individual pages from this Guide are available in PDF format for use in all publicity and communication activity, and Hard copies of the Guide are available from the WLA Supported Internship Programme office at: West London Alliance c/o London Borough of Ealing, 5th Floor, Perceval House, 14-16 Uxbridge Road, London, W5 2HL.
