As our community is over 200 members but we never able to get all participants out, I will be releasing a video everyday on how to get started with Angular. Most videos are under 8 minutes as the idea is to teach one small aspect of Angular. The first video is up on the Facebook Group so please join now and get started.
Here is what the video goes through.
Go to https://angular.io/guide/quickstart to find out how to download and install Angular.
Step 1: Install nodeJS and npm https://nodejs.org/en/download/
Step 2: Install the Angular CLI globally using a terminal (Mac/Linux) or Command Prompt (Windows)
Command: npm install -g @angular/cli
Step 3: Navigate to your chosen directory and create a new project in your terminal session
Command: ng new zero2hero
Note: zero2hero is the name I chose for my project. This can be any name.
Criteria: no spaces and must only contain letters and numbers
Step 4: Now go into the project directory in the terminal and launch the project
Command: cd zero2hero
ng serve –open
The ng serve command launches the server, watches your files, and rebuilds the app as you make changes to those files.
Using the –open (or just -o) option will automatically open your browser on http://localhost:4200/.
