Get funding and expert support to test the latest AI technologies.
Sadiq Khan, the Mayor of London, has launched a programme aimed at helping retail and hospitality companies from across London to access the newest and best technologies to grow their businesses.
The Greater London Authority, in partnership with the London School of Economics, CognitionX, and Capital Enterprise – funded by the Department for Business Energy and Industrial Strategy – is piloting a programme offering businesses the chance to win free support and guidance on the latest marketing and customer tools – all driven by advanced AI technology aimed at helping London’s SMEs reach more customers and provide even better services.
Those successfully enrolled onto the programme will receive access to a selection of tools that can:
- Provide your shop with 24/7 support for your customers
- Give your hotel visitors tailored, personalised recommendations
- Connect with new customers on the web, Facebook or mobile and a whole host of other capabilities
If you run a hotel, restaurant, shop or any retail or hospitality business, then you could receive support from an expert caseworker to help identify your business needs together with some funding to help trial new tech, or an invitation to a special event tailored to your business needs, hosted at CogX, London’s leading festival of AI.

Participating in this project will also involve filling out a short survey at the start and end of the programme. This will help inform the Mayor as well as the national government how to design the most effective support programmes for businesses like yours in the future. The chance to access caseworker support or AI events will be allocated by lottery, but all companies that successfully enrol in the programme will receive a new and exclusive guide to AI for retail and hospitality SMEs compiled by AI business experts CognitionX.
