Make a difference to the lives of West London’s young people

Make a difference to the lives of West London’s young people

The Challenge is the UK’s leading charity for building a more integrated society. Working on a local level to connect people together across all ages and walks of life through running a variety of youth and community programmes that mix diverse groups of people together. The National Citizen Service is one of the programmes The Challenge delivers to connect people and encourage social integration. It is a government-back scheme, open to Year 11 and 12 students, that helps them build skills for work, life and the transition to adulthood.
One part of the National Citizen Service (NCS) summer programme focusses on local business and providing an insight into the world of work. NCS believe it is important to work closely with businesses that provide a valuable experience to teams of young people, all of which are local to that borough.

The NCS already work with many amazing organisations who provide this experience.

Metro Bank – a member of West London Business– are one of the most valued and widespread partners, hosting 1-hour visits across Hounslow, Ealing, Hillingdon and Kingston, as well as other parts of London. They are part of a list of corporate partners to NCS that include Heathrow, BSkyB, British Airways, IBM, Rackspace, and Starbucks. NCS are looking to connect with more businesses across West London to take part in something similar. Visits take place in July and August.

Can’t host a visit but want to make a difference to the lives of local young people? NCS also have opportunities to volunteer as Dragons to provide feedback to youth-led campaigns based on a charity’s cause.

If you or your business are interested, then NCS would love to hear from you.  Please contact:
