London Festival of Architecture 2017:
Evolution of Building Design in Shoreditch on Friday 16th and Saturday 17th June at CGL
We’re delighted to announce we will be continuing our work with the London Festival of Architecture by participating once again in their June exhibitions.
On Friday 16th – Saturday 17th June we ask you to please join us as we take on the theme of ‘memory’ to deliver an exhibition that showcases the evolution of building design in Shoreditch.
Our home has been in Shoreditch for a long time now and we’ve witnessed the area developing and growing in popularity rapidly, even just in the last few years. So, as well as hosting an exhibition within our own studios on Commercial Street, we will be working in conjunction with The Huguenots of Spitalfields to deliver two tours of local buildings on the Saturday. Each an hour long, these will give our visitors a glimpse into the ongoing evolution of building design and typologies in this part of London. The first tour will start at 1pm and the second at 4pm; more details on the exact route will be released soon.
Additionally, we are pleased to welcome Steve Edge – you may know him as ‘Lord Shoreditch’ – who will also be joining us in-between tours on the Saturday to talk all about his knowledge of the local area. Having lived here for most of his life, Steve will be giving us some insight into some of the key changes he’s seen over the years.
Our exhibition will be open from 12:00 – 17:00 on both days and our address is: Studio 1, 155 Commercial Street, London, E1 6BJ
