Harrow Business Den 2019: The Final (13 March)
Harrow’s most anticipated business event is back for its’ sixth year and will take place on 13 March. four finalists will battle it out for a chance to win a year’s business support but only one will be crowned winner of the 2019 Harrow Business Den competition. Bringing together the local business community, the event which is organized by Harrow Council includes an exhibition and attracts hundreds of business people every year. It’s an evening of networking and a great opportunity to find out about the excellent business support available.

Business Finance Workshop (4 March)
This workshop, organized by Brunel Co-Innovate, is designed to cover most aspects of business finance. The objectives of the workshop are to help you develop a greater understanding about financial matters, and to build confidence in cash flow forecasting, making a profit and managing your money. The workshop will host a variety of presenters, who will help you understand financial budgeting and budgeting in relation to costs, as well as giving key tips/tools, software and Apps that will make them more adept in running a successful business.

Women in Business – #Networking (8 March)
This is an open free network meeting for Women in Business hosted by NatWest’s Business Growth Enabler Stewart Smith & supported by Harrow London Borough Council to celebrate International Women’s day 2019. The event will consist of presentations by various speakers, and networking opportunities.

The Power of Facebook Lead Generation – Turn Your Fans into Profit (25 April)
NatWest invites you to this complimentary event hosted by Luv4 Marketing, which will focus on utilizing Facebook for marketing purposes. This is open to companies with 3 to 250 employees, a turnover of less than £40m operating in key broad sectors: financial, business services and technology, life sciences and innovation, creative and urban.

£2 million investment to help small businesses to grow
The Business Basics Programme is designed to test innovative ways of encouraging small and medium sized enterprises to adopt existing technologies and management practices to improve their productivity.

MTD for VAT pilot is now open from April to all affected businesses
The MTD for VAT pilot is now open to all who will be mandated to use the MTD service from April 2019. HMRC has indicated that it wants as many eligible businesses as possible to join the pilot ahead of the mandation in April and directs users to the support packs available.

Update letter from The Pensions Regulator
The Pensions Regulator (TPR) is writing reminders to all employers that, from 6 April 2019, the minimum amount to be paid to a workplace pension is increasing to 8% – and employers must contribute at least 3% of the total contribution. TPR recommended seeking further guidance from their website, and to ensure that the payroll software used is compliant with the changes.
