Underbelly, the producers of London Wonderground, has launched the Underbelly Training Academy, open to 18–25-year-old residents in the London Boroughs of Hammersmith & Fulham and Kensington & Chelsea, to gain insight and practical experience in the production and staging of large-scale events and festivals.
The Training Academy will run from Monday 16th August to Friday 10th September 2021 on-site at London Wonderground, Earls Court, SW6 and is supported by The Earls Court Development Company and delivered in partnership with the Young Lyric Team at the Lyric Hammersmith.
The aim of the Academy is to introduce participants to the process of producing a festival such as London Wonderground from planning through to delivery, and to give them the confidence to seek further training in the field, or to apply for jobs within the sector. Previous participants have developed fulfilling long-term careers in the sector following their successful participation in the programme.
To apply, applicants must complete a short online form before Wednesday 4th August 2021 and may be required to attend a short online interview with the Academy team. We are particularly keen to ensure the programme and careers in events are open to people of all abilities and backgrounds.
