IT’S A FULL HOUSE!

Tickets for Demo Day on 26 November 2019 were snapped up in record time this year and the waiting list is growing fast! For those attending, the CRL team can’t wait to share with what their startups have been building.

MAKING AN IMPRESSION AT INVESTOR DAY

This month, CRL’s 6th cohort took part in CRL’s Investor Day. As many of them prepare to raise seed rounds, the team sat them down with five amazing investors from CRL’s network to help them hone their pitches.

A BRIGHT FUTURE AHEAD

Last month, CRL hosted its annual Graduate Entrepreneur day – an opportunity for final year students and recent graduates to share ideas and gain support for their innovations.

CRL’s latest accelerator cohort was on-hand to share their experiences and learnings of taking their early-stage concepts through to commercial readiness with the support of CRL.

Anneza Pitsialis, Programme Manager at CRL, said: “The room was buzzing with ideas and enthusiasm. It was inspiring to hear so many ideas with potential and the future is looking very exciting for these talented graduates!”

THE GREAT WALL OF INNOVATION AND INSPIRATION

The Central Research Laboratory team were celebrating momentous activity this week when the Plus X Powerhouse hoardings were installed.

This ‘wall of inspiration’ is a rich chronology of the 100+ years of innovation that has stemmed from the iconic Old Vinyl Factory location to the future signposting of Plus X Powerhouse.

The hoardings celebrate exciting local inventions from EMI’s past, present day success stats and case studies from the Central Research Laboratory and the future arrival of Plus X Powerhouse. The wall even offers interactive Spotify hotspots, enabling visitors to listen to Dame Nellie Melba (who officially opened the EMI factory) and also, of course, the Beatles, whose records were pressed on this very site.
