Innovate UK – Grants update


Young Innovators Awards 2021/22 (Deadline 28 July 2021) – Young people can apply for an award to make their business idea a reality, which includes a grant for £5,000, a living allowance, and tailored business support. This competition is open to sole applicants only. The aim of this competition is to find a new group of young innovators that, with our help, can turn their great ideas into successful businesses. Read more >>

Innovate UK SMART grants (Deadline 25 August 2021) – Smart is Innovate UK’s ‘Open grant funding’ programme. Innovate UK, part of UK Research and Innovation, is investing up to £25 million in the best game-changing and commercially viable innovative or disruptive ideas. All proposals must be business focused. All applicants are required to complete the EDI survey. Applicants are also prompted to consider EDI as part of the application process. Read more >>

Knowledge transfer partnerships (KTP): 2021-22, round 2 (30 June 2021) – UK registered academic institutions, RTOs or Catapults can apply for a share of up to £6 million to fund innovation projects with businesses or not-for-profits. This new partnership brings new skills and the latest academic thinking into the business partner to deliver a specific, strategic innovation project. The knowledge base partner will recruit 1 or 2 graduates (known as ‘associates’) to work on the project. Each application must be led by a knowledge base, working with a business partner. Read more >>
