Organizations are encouraged to send their ideas for innovative solutions to issues facing the airport. In particular, Heathrow are looking for product or service innovations that are ready (or nearly ready) for market or looking for somewhere to be trialed. Heathrow has three categories:
- Traveling to the airport sustainably – how to encourage and facilitate more sustainable and carbon-free alternatives
- Getting ready for sustainable propulsion – how to help prepare the airport for fossil-free flight
- Negative emissions at or near the airport – how to begin capturing and using carbon in and around the airport operation (carbon capture and use)
UK-based organizations have until Wednesday 22nd May 2019 to submit their ideas and solutions here: https://your.heathrow.com/centreofexcellence/2019sustainabilityinnovationprize/
Questions can be directed to Matt Prescott (Matt.Prescott@heathrow.com) or Melanie Kenny (Melanie.Kenny@heathrow.com) from Heathrow’s Sustainability team.
