GivingTime – professional coaching and volunteering charity – seeks trustees
GivingTime is a professional coaching and volunteering charity, working with state secondary schools, young people and commercial organisations in the UK. Since its inception in 2015, the GivingTime programme has established firm partnerships in West London and developed a solid reputation for making a positive impact on the lives of adolescents and others in the wider community.
The charity’s purpose is to support young people make the transition from education into the workplace. They do this by partnering with state secondary schools to provide young people with free professional coaching sessions, in return for volunteering hours. They pair young people (aged 14-24 years old) with experienced professional coaches who volunteer their time to provide one-to-one coaching sessions in a workplace environment. GivingTime partners with commercial organisations to obtain coaching space free of charge. In return for the coaching, the young people volunteer their time to a cause that matters to them and their community.
Since the pilot programme in 2015, GivingTime has successfully partnered with 5 secondary schools in west London, and delivered over 220 hours of coaching to over 60 young people, who in turn have delivered over 340 hours of volunteering to their local communities.
They are aligned and committed to an ambitious long-term aim to deliver the GivingTime programme in +90% of all UK state secondary schools by 2037.
To achieve these goals we are seeking to recruit additional trustees to strengthen our board. If you are interested in applying please email a cover letter and CV to Chris Paterson Chris@givingtime.org.uk Download the role descriptions for current vacancies below.
