EU Settlement Scheme Update and Future Borders and Immigration System

Three million applications to the EU Settlement Scheme

The Home Office are pleased to announce that there have been more than three million applications to the EU Settlement Scheme, according to the Government’s latest internal figures.

It is an important milestone and the Home Office hopes it will encourage anyone who has yet to apply to make their application. If you have not yet applied, you can begin your application online.

If you or anyone you know needs help with an application, please contact the Settlement Resolution Centre on 0300 123 7379. Alternatively, you can ask a question via email.

Update on the Future Borders and Immigration System

Last week, the Migration Advisory Committee (MAC) published its recommendations for the new points-based immigration system, to be implemented from January 2021.

The Government will now consider the recommendations of the MAC and further details on the UK’s future immigration system will be set out in due course.

To keep you up to date, the Home Offices has launched a new email sign-up where individuals can register to receive updates on the future immigration system: gov.uk/new-immigration-system. Please sign up and share with others who might be interested.
