Entries for the eighth West London Business Awards (WLBA) are now open. This year, the WLBA will celebrate business resilience rather than excellence – reflecting the unprecedented impact that the Covid-19 pandemic has had on West London’s community.
The 2021 WLBA ceremony, which in 2020 was hosted by Gaby Roslin, will take place online for the first time ever on Thursday 4 February 2021. The organisers promise just as much entertainment and interactivity as usual to ensure it remains a special night.
Twenty-nine awards will be up for grabs and all organisations that trade in West London are eligible for nomination. The entry deadline is Friday 23 October 2020 at 10pm.
The awards cover four themes: ‘Sector leadership’, ‘Sustainable & responsible business’, ‘Corporate Leadership’, ‘Individual Leadership’ and ‘Economic Resilience’ – a new theme that recognises the struggles many businesses will have faced in light of the Coronavirus crisis.
From the award winners, one will be selected as the prestigious West London Company of the Year 2021 – a title claimed by sustainable packaging company Wrapology at the 2020 awards.
Annika Bosanquet, Director of Wrapology, said:
“We were really excited to win two awards at the West London Business Awards 2020. It was a huge boost for us. After winning, we were very given many opportunities to network. We kept involved with West London Business’ Talk at Tens, we were invited to a Bank of England session, and we met some really interesting people in the region who previously didn’t know about.”
The awards ceremony traditionally brings together 500 guests from across the sub-region’s business community with senior community leaders attending. This year’s sponsors include Westfield and Harrow and Uxbridge College.
