Ealing Filmworks

St George acquired the Ealing Filmworks site from Land Securities in August 2016 and commenced construction in December 2016. We have undertaken site preparation works including site and structural surveys. In April 2017, St George took possession of Walpole House and Flava’s Bar & Grill, allowing the next stage of work to begin. Both of these buildings will be demolished over the summer.

Since St George purchased the site they have reviewed the planning permission, with a view to making a number of refinements and improvements.

On May 20 2017, they held a public exhibition to update local residents and businesses on their proposed minor amends. They will shortly submit a Section 73 minor amendment application, along with a Reserved Matters Application, to the London Borough of Ealing.

These minor amendments do not affect the cinema, which will open in 2019.

Local benefits

Ealing Filmworks will provide a number of key benefits for local people. The new cinema, as well as the shops, cafés and restaurants, will create and sustain jobs and help to boost the local economy. Ealing Filmworks will also deliver much-needed housing, including Discounted Market Sale (DMS) homes for local people, an attractive new public square and new pedestrian links between The Broadway, Bond Street and Walpole Park.
