CRL is thrilled that work has started on their new home at the Powerhouse in Hayes and they’e  racing towards completion by the end of 2020!

The stunning new space is a converted Victorian power station designed by award-winning architects Pilbrow and Partners. It will be three times larger than their current space, allowing them to work with startups as they scale to teams of 40+, and with corporate innovation teams who will work alongside our entrepreneurs.

Huge congratulations to Lauren Bell, founder of Cosi Care, and member of CRL’s 2018 cohort on winning the Santander Universities Entrepreneurship Awards 2019!

Lauren fought off tough competition from over 151 entries from universities across the UK to be selected as one of two winners. The prize will enable her to have Cosi Care products in-store within the next 6 months.
After an amazing 6 months, having also won The Mayor’s Entrepreneur award earlier in the year, CLR  can’t wait to see what is next for Lauren and Cosi Care!

This month, as their talented Cohort approach the final stretch of their journey on the CRL Accelerator Programme 2019, they headed East to Shenzhen in China for an inspiring week of meetings with potential suppliers and manufacturers – plus the odd karaoke thrown in for good measure!

Visiting factories and seeing each phase of the production process has helped them to gain a realistic perspective about the complexity, timings, and costs associated with running their first production. Meetings with recommended partners help them gain a better understanding of startup production and how to tailor their designs ready for manufacture and product launch!

Follow CRL on Instagram for behind the scenes footage of the cohort’s startup journeys.

CRL has joined forces with SOLIDWORKS and Solid Solutions Management to bring their Entrepreneur programme to CRL. Early-stage startups can now gain free access to their 3D CAD software, online resources, technical support, marketing opportunities, training and mentoring.
