Students from Ealing, Hammersmith and West London’s College’s Cabin Crew course graduated at a ceremony on Monday 27 June. This time, the graduation was held at the Learning Centre at British Airways’ prestigious Headquarters close to Heathrow Airport. Students were presented with their ‘wings’ by ex-student Savannah Blake, a British Airways cabin crew member who has now moved up to become BA’s Customer Service Delivery Executive.
This intensive cabin crew course is designed to prepare those who want to work in the industry for the rigorous interview and training process that each airline provides.
Guest speaker, Mary Barry, Community Investment Manager for British Airways, described cabin crew members as ‘the emergency services in the sky” as she praised their crucial role in passenger safety and security.
Delighted family and friends clapped and cheered as the students accepted their certificates and ‘wings’ badges.
Janet Gardner, Principal at Hammersmith and Fulham College, where the course is based, said: “I am so proud of everyone graduating today. The cabin crew course is an intensive programme that requires considerable commitment and a desire to succeed. I’m delighted that we are able to offer our students the advantage of our partnerships with BA and others, so that by the time they complete their course, they are able to transfer seamlessly into the workplace.”
Many of the graduates have already secured positions both in cabin crew with high profile airlines like British Airways, Emirates and Etihad. Many students credit their familiarity with airline terminology and professionalism which allows them to effectively represent such high profile organisations.
Cabin crew courses are recruiting now for a September start.
