Now in its 3rd year, the Better Futures programme is working with partners including Sustainable Ventures and Imperial College London to give over 150 small businesses the boost they need to be successful in London, and to create a hub for low-carbon and circular industries in our city. Despite the Covid-19 outbreak, the Better Futures programme continues remotely and without interruption.
If your business is selected you’ll get fantastic support to grow, including:

Co-Innovate UK:
Co-Innovate is an innovation support programme for London-based SMEs, entrepreneurs and start-ups. Its goal is to help companies achieve business growth through collaboration with Brunel University London’s world class academic expertise, knowledge assets and facilities. Co-Innovate are jointly funded by Brunel University London and the European Regional Development Fund.
The programme is further divided into two projects, Co-Innovate Journeys and Co-Innovate Bridging the Gap, which are distinguished according to the needs of the business.
Co-Innovate Journeys provides support to SMEs, connects connecting London-based SMEs with academic expertise and research practices at Brunel University London. The project provides the tools and support necessary to help your business innovate, differentiate and compete successfully in the market through collaborative projects with academics and students. The EU funding makes it possible to offer free tailored workshops for beneficiaries, access to specialised research facilities and support in accessing innovation funding.

Brunel Small Business Charter:
The Small Business Leadership Programme supports senior leaders to enhance their business’s resilience and recovery from the impact of COVID-19. It helps small and medium-sized businesses to develop their potential for future growth and productivity.
Participants will develop strategic leadership skills and the confidence to make informed decisions to boost business performance.
The fully-funded 10 week programme will be delivered online by small business and enterprise experts from world-leading business schools.

UWL Fresh Minds: Could a UWL student business team solve your business problem?
