New ‘Brent for Business’ website launches
Help for businesses of all sizes has arrived with the launch of the new ‘Brent for Business’ website.
In addition to practical information on trade waste, licencing, and business rates, the user-friendly site also promotes Brent’s town centres as a great place to do business, signposts start-ups to sources of advice and financial support, and highlights development opportunities in the borough.
Rype Office embraces London Living Wage to increase sustainability
Congratulations to office fit-out and furniture supplier Rype Office, the newest Living Wage employer in Brent! Based in Park Royal, they join the growing community of businesses in Brent who believe a fair days work should equal a fair days pay.
Rype Office has halved the cost of high-quality office furniture using their sustainable approach to manufacturing. They take the long-life elements from brand-name furniture items, check and resurface them and then rebuild the item around them. The result looks and performs as new, provides big environmental savings but costs half the list price for the same item from virgin materials.
To celebrate its Living Wage accreditation, Rype Office is offering free office layout design for Brent-based companies for the next 3 months. To find out more contact kate@rypeoffice.com and check out their video.
Feeling inspired? Any business in Brent who receives accreditation from the Living Wage Foundation can claim a substantial discount on their business rates. Get in touch to find out more.

Successful Meet the Buyer event held in Wembley for the Construction Industry
Over 100 people attended the council’s first ‘Meet the Buyer’ event in July – a great turnout! The event, linking SMEs in the Construction industry with large developers who have sub-contracting opportunities in the pipeline, was all about promoting the local supply chain.
Representatives from developers including Wates Residential, McAleer & Rushe, and St George’s Development – all of whom have major works coming up in Brent – had packed schedules meeting with dozens of small and medium-sized businesses!
