B P Collins has announced that, as of 1 May 2019, Chris Brazier will be promoted to a partner in B P Collins’ employment team, where he leads its business immigration practice, after joining the firm in 2012. With ten years of business immigration and employment experience, Chris is a regular commentator on employment issues in the media and a key advisor in B P Collins’ Brexit team on immigration. He is rated as a “next generation lawyer” by independent legal directory Legal 500, for his “wide-ranging knowledge of the points-based system and sponsor licensing, among other business immigration matters”. Chambers UK legal directory also singles Chris out for being an “organised and sharp” business immigration specialist.

Dominic Ibbs, a specialist in the creation and administration of trusts, and Tom Bird, who is experienced in estate planning for high net worth individuals, have been promoted to senior associate and associate respectively within the wills, trusts and probate team, which was rated ‘top tier’ by Legal 500 in 2019.
Emily Halley has also been promoted to an associate in the property team. The promotion comes after a strong year for Emily when she was shortlisted by “Today’s Conveyancer” as the South East’s “Young Conveyancer of the Year.” She has been recognised for her handling of complex deals and transactions and receiving hugely positive feedback from clients.
Simon Deans, senior partner, said: “Business immigration advice has never been more important for our clients in the run up to Brexit. Chris has been working closely with many businesses and individuals to help them navigate Home Office rules allowing employees and families to remain in the UK. He thoroughly deserves this partner promotion.
“Congratulations to Dominic, Tom and Emily too. Clients frequently comment on their legal expertise and extensive knowledge which they use to devise practical solutions for every matter they advise on. They are real assets to the firm.”
B P Collins has also retained two of their trainees upon qualification. Amy Cooper has qualified into the employment team led by partner Jo Davis and Hedley Tipton has joined the property practice, led by partner Alison Taylor.
