Atul Pathak OBE accepts invitation to join WLB in Ambassador Role

West London Business is delighted to announce that Atul Pathak OBE has today accepted an invitation from the WLB board to become a West London Business Ambassador.

A voluntary role supporting the WLB board, WLB Ambassadors are champions of business in our area – engaging in direct interventions to improve the infrastructure on which our economic performance relies, as well as West London businesses’ investment in our local community and environment. In WLB’s 25th year it has been a focus of the board to promote business as a force for good across our sub-region, making Atul a perfect fit for the Ambassador role. Atul’s appointment is in succession of former Ambassadors Carol Bagnald and Sir Eric Peacock.

Atul, CEO of Appt Corporation Ltd and one of the UK’s most successful franchise entrepreneurs, runs a 37 strong McDonalds restaurant group across London and Berkshire. Employing over 3,000 staff and serving a customer base of 18 million annually; Atul has grown his company from humble beginnings since 2003 in Southall in line with maintaining his own business ethics and values – believing that operating a business and being socially responsible are inextricably linked. Atul is currently involved in a range of community partnerships and charities, most notably Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC). Atul’s restaurants donate a percentage of their sales to the charity each year. Atul was made an OBE for services to entrepreneurship in the 2015 Queen’s Birthdays Honours list.

Atul’s business leadership through Appt Corporation’s achievements have not gone unnoticed with WLB previously – the organisation is a two time winner at the West London Business Awards, scooping Franchise of the Year in 2017 and the Community Investment Award in 2018.

WLB CEO Andrew Dakers said of Atul’s appointment:

I’m personally delighted to welcome Atul as WLB Ambassador. West London Business and Appt Corporation share the same values of promoting ethical business growth and Atul’s personal track record of business and community engagement in West London makes him the perfect fit for the WLB Ambassador role.

“I look forward to Atul’s support and contribution to engaging our existing member base, local business leaders, fellow ambassadors and the WLB board to provide valuable insights on how we continue to raise West London’s business profile and global economic competitiveness.
